Artventure:
With this piece, I explored the idea of an African goddess graced with beauty as well as strength. While we celebrate this combination in theory, do we in actuality? Her angular jawline, prominent lips, attentive ears, long neck and broad shoulders do not scream elegant by western society standards but society standards shouldn't be our own. There's strength in all her features and that makes her beautiful. Also, I fiddled with the combination of modern and traditional sense of styling. The blue hair and lipstick seemed to work well with the tribal body paint and fresh hibiscus flowers as earrings. I figured that deity wouldn't be confined to individual timelines and trends.
